My suitcase

The other one is for me!  I'm going to put all the little photo books and things just for fun that I have made in it.  I guess you could say it's my keepsake suitcase!  I used paper from My Minds Eye, Lost and Found and the Elegant Edges cartride for the frame.  I inked the whole outside before I started and boy is that messy!  It looks reall old though and I like that look.  I used chalk ink in brown and a little pink and blue also.  The bits and pieces around the edges were just things that I liked from some of my assortment of papers.  I did ink the edges of everything which is quiet time consuming but worth it, I think.  I forgot to put the picture of the end of Sophia's in the first post so it is here now.  Hope you enjoy looking and will give this project or a simular one a try.  Happy crafting and God bless you.

Sophia's keepsake suitcase

This is a special keepsake box for my newest grandaughter.  I found the suitcase at Mangelsens.  I used Elegant edges cricut cartrides for the frame and Kate's ABC's for the little girl and flowers and butterflies.  It was a lot of fun to do and I know it will be special to her when she gets older.  Oh, I did spray the whole thing with clear spray to protect the paper design.

New and lovely ideas from another

I just came from a blog where Julie had taken old silver spoons and altered them with glitter, ribbon, pictures of roses and other things.  I fell in love with them and will have to give it a try.  Those ladies at craft secrets are the bees knees!

What happened?

I don't know why these pictures are sooo big!  Sorry because that makes them out of focus.  Really weird but I really don't know what happened.

I spent my vacation

making these two books and tags.  I used Lady Coutore stack from Michaels for the Fashion book.  The other book was made with My Minds Eye glittered roses paper.  I love that paper because of the bling and the old fashioned look it has.  Each of the tags in the fashion book have differant things on the back of them and I used old buttons and strings of pearls and pearl headed pins in it.  I used the Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge to cut the shapes.  I hope you enjoy looking at my creations and make some for yourself.

Here is my third frame.  It was really a fun project since I tried out using sepia tones.  I had the pictures printed and then found the paper at Hobby Lobby to use for the background and the scrolls.  The frames have three layers from Elegant Edges and the scrolls were cut from copper colored glitter paper.  I used Serenade to cut them.  It's quiet a challenge to figure out the frame sizes but worth the effort.  It might be easier if you are better at math than I am!  I hope you will get some ideas of your own and take off making your own treasures!
After a long week at work I took a whole afternoon and did my second frame.  This one I also used Elegant Edges but didn't do quiet as much frilly stuff since it has my grandson in it.  I cut the initals with Storybook and used flowers and a train engine to dress them up a little.  My goal is to get all the pictures into three or four large frames instead of eight or ten smaller ones so I'm trying to do families.  I have ten grandchildren so it'll be a challenge!

Scrapbooking in a Frame

I decided to stop hiding my work in books so last week I started working on my grandkids pictures.  I was blessed to find several white frames, perfect for my living room entry way, at Hobby Lobby on sale at clearance prices!  I made this one of my daughter and her new baby girl first.  I used my Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge to make the layered frames and then added rinestone swirls and paper flowers and glittery butterflies.  I printed their names on my computer and framed them with a metal piece from Tim Holtz.

My butterfly book

This a book I made for fun.  It's full of glitter and interactive pages.  It's all about butterflies and how they relate to life.  I used a chip board book I found at Michaels for $l.00 as the base and K and Co. paper and some of the butterflies and flowers.  I found the quotes on line.  There are brads and pearls and fastners and tassels that I have no idea where I got them!  You know how that goes.  I buy when it's on sale and stash it until I have a project that calls for it.  The frames are things I'm making for our church coffee tables.  Hope you enjoy these projects.  Sorry it takes me so long to put up new things but with working full time and still trying to figure out how to use this blog I don't have much time!  I used Elegant Edges from Cricut for a lot of my cuts on this.  The big butterfly is from Picturesque.

More cards for soldiers

I tell you friends I am just not very computer savy!  I've spent hours trying to "pretty up" my blog with little success!  Oh well, I'd rather be creating things instead of spending so much time trying to do something I don't have the knowledge for.  Maybe my daughter-in-law will come and help me figure out how to make it pretty some day.  Today I've been painting a wall clock I found at a great price and and old lamp.  I'm re-doing my living room so this week-end I'm not doing much crafting.  Here are some cards I made earlier this month.

I'm so thrilled to have followers!  Thank you all for your lovely comments.  I'll be putting on more pictures later this week end.  Making cards is one of my favorite past times.  I sometimes just don't bother with the house work ect. when a knew idea hits me!  You fellow crafters know what I mean! LOL!  I make cards for soldiers with the Cricut group and Cricut card fairies.  I also make center pieces for my church coffee tables using my scrapbook and card making skills.  I enjoy that also and will have to post pictures when I get the next group done.  I don't know about the rest of you but can't think of any thing more fun than creating something from all the scraps of paper, ribbon, and flowers except maybe shopping for all those things!

Sometimes I think I just need to sit here and be calm and then I can figure out how to do things on the computer!  I'm always in such a hurry!  Since I work full time I don't have a lot of time and there is soooo much I want to do.  Ideas are always floating around and I never seem to get to all of them or I run out of energy!  Any thanks to my friends who always encourage me!
I think I finally figured out how to post pictures.  I know sometimes I'm a little dense!  The cards I made with the lace and flowers are my favorite type to do.  I used my Cricut machine and carts and pre-made flowers, added a little ribbone, pearls, jewels and inked the edges.  This is probably my favorite past time although I do scrapbook some and I love to decorate my apartment.

A few cards I made for friends

I just had my 65th birthday and maybe in computer years my computer is as old as I am and so it's too tired today to upload pictures!
O.K. my server was rejected!  What that means I don't know so I'll try again to post more cards that I've made for "Cards for Soldiers".  I really hate computers!  Do you think they know somehow? LOL

Starting a new blog

Today I'm trying to start a new blog so we'll see how it goes. Hopefully I'll be able to post lots of new projects.
